About the Album |
Stephanie Schoiswohl, Florian Bauer, Daniel Dundus and Severin Neubauer are the Spectrum Saxophonquartett. All four of them studied classical and contemporary saxophone with Gerald Preinfalk at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Even though only founded in 2020, the quartet already looks back upon a number of successful concerts both in Austria and abroad.
The Spectrum Saxophonquartett was accepted for “The New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM) 2023/24”, a sponsorship scheme initiated by the Austrian Foreign Ministry in cooperation with mica, in the category “Contemporary Music”. We are now happy to present En dehors, the debut album of this dynamic quartet. En dehors means “outside” and is not just an album title, but also a concept: By assembling compositions by Friedrich Cerha, Olga Neuwirth, Ursula Reicher, Gerald Preinfalk and Georg Friedrich Haas, the young instrumentalists aim to put the focus on Austrian composers and their works and present them to the world outside. |
